Ingredients

2 teaspoons of Salt

2 teaspoons of Sugar

1 tablespoon of Dry yeast

2 teaspoons of Oil

1 ¼ cup of Warm water

Sesame seeds

Preparation

Step 1 : First, prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper, lightly greasing it or sprinkling it with sesame seeds or cornmeal, and set aside.

Step 2 : In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar, forming a well in the center.

Step 3 : In that well, add the yeast.

Step 4 : It is important to activate the yeast by dissolving a small amount of water in it and gently stirring with your fingers until foam forms, indicating it is ready to use.

Step 5 : Then, add the remaining water and oil to the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix gently until all components are incorporated.

Step 6 : Knead the dough for about 5 to 10 minutes, either in the same bowl or on a floured surface, until you get a soft, elastic, and flexible dough.

Step 7 : If necessary, add more flour or water to achieve the right consistency.

Step 8 : Next, divide the dough into two equal parts and shape each into a smooth ball, placing them separately on the prepared tray.

Step 9 : Cover with a clean cloth and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 10 : Subsequently, flatten each ball into disks about a quarter-inch thick.

Step 11 : Cover again and let rest for about an hour, until the dough regains its elasticity when gently pressed.

Step 12 : Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 225°C (435°F).

Step 13 : Before baking, make small cuts in the surface of each bread with a very sharp knife or several pricks with a fork to ensure even baking.

Step 14 : Bake the breads for about 20 minutes, until golden and they sound hollow when tapped.

Step 15 : Finally, remove from the oven and place on a wire rack or cloth to cool.

Step 16 : If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on the surface before baking for a special touch.
